I've been thinking about getting this kit for a long time now but the cost has been a problem. I've now got the opportunity to get it (with the wife's blessing amazingly) but I need some advice. Looking on Scalemates, there are lots of extra detail parts and decals I can get. I ideally want to put together a Dambusters version but don't know what additional extras I need to get. The budget is restricted, especially as I will need to get extra paint but I'd appreciate any advice on what I can add to this without breaking the bank too much. Any comments greatly appreciated.

If you're really on a tight budget, the main things to add is:
Seatbelts
Pre-painted dashboard ( Eduard zoom?)
Better guns barrels
Canopy masks.
It' a big kit, but finally there's not so much interiors things that can be seen, and most of them are under the big greenhouse on the back.
Check the wheels too: they may be of a wrong model

Lionel, many thanks for the pointers. I ended up ordering the Eduard pre-painted seatbelts and pre-painted cockpit dashboard and the Quickboost gun barrels. I'm still thinking about the wheels and window masks. It looks like this version of the kit comes with both clear and pre-painted canopies and subtle pre-loaded smooth wheels. I'll check these when the kit arrives. But once again, thanks for the input, really appreciated.
